We are a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Dive Resort and we aim to give our guests unforgettable experiences and the chance to explore the amazing underwater life that the Red Sea offers.

Our philosophy is to create memories together with our guests whilst providing high quality and safe diving and snorkelling activities.

All our courses and diving and snorkelling activities are led by experienced Scuba Diving Instructors, Dive Masters and snorkelling guides. We aim to provide a warm, welcoming family feeling.

Over 40 years of experiance!

With over 40 years of experience in the Red Sea, Colona Divers has a rich history of diving adventures, professional training, and a passion for exploring Egypt's underwater world.

Our journey began in 1992, when Norwegian diving pioneer Mr. Freddy Storheil established the first Colona Divers centre in Sharm El Sheikh. Freddy had been operating liveaboard diving trips in the Red Sea since 1977. The name Colona comes from his first liveaboard boat.

Following our success, we expanded to Hurghada in 1999, El Gouna in 2001, and Marsa Alam in 2010, bringing unforgettable diving experiences to more destinations along the Red Sea.

Over the years, we faced several challenges. Reduced flight arrivals led to the closure of our Sharm El Sheikh centre, while the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 significantly affected our operations, resulting in the closure of our Hurghada and Marsa Alam centres.

Our Dive Centre

Our Dive Centre at Zahabia Beach, Hurghada

Our dive centre is located at Zahabia Beach, just 2 km north of Hurghada New Marina, offering direct access to the beautiful underwater world of the Red Sea.

The beach provides an ideal setting for beginner diving courses, with a shallow area perfect for training. Our house reef begins at approximately 1 metre and reaches depths of 30 metres or more within just two minutes of diving. This makes it an excellent location for all levels of diving courses and shore diving.

Between dives, relax on the beach right outside our dive centre. After your dives, enjoy a game of volleyball or an after-dive drink in our shaded diving area while logging your dives.

Our dive centre is ideal for families and groups travelling with both divers and non-divers. While divers explore the reef, non-divers can enjoy snorkelling, relax on the beach, or even try their first scuba diving experience at our house reef.

Our daily boat diving trips also depart directly from the jetty at our beach, making your diving experience convenient and comfortable.
